We had such a great time at Brainchild Festivals 2016 and 2017 that we are looking to expand our presence and installation. We are on the hunt for volunteers to come along with PPL PWR to Brainchild Festival 2018 in exchange for free/discounted tickets.
One of the many ways we like to spend our time is engaging with people at festivals about all things sustainable, particularly by demystifying the science behind renewable technologies and empowering people to use them themselves.
PPL PWR had a range of activities at Brainchild Festival 2017: demonstrations of renewable technologies, both those built by PPL PWR members and those provided by organisations in the PPL PWR network such as Navitron.
These included: creative use of solar thermal vacuum tubes in our Solar Tea café; demonstrations of hydrogen fuel technology by UCell; an art installation and performance by Neon Litter Movement that challenged people to sort their rubbish; interactive art installations made from recycled materials; and a variety of talks given by PPL PWR members on PPL PWR’s own Green Stage. This year, we are planning to add to our interactive installations, collaborate with more artists and Brainchild have granted us a bigger and better stage which means more talks, more demonstrations and more fun!
So, if you are interested in sustainability, renewable technologies and having a good time, join us this year at Brainchild 2018. PPL PWR is also recruiting for other festivals in 2018 (possibly Shambala and Green Man).
To find out more, come along to the Marlborough Arms at 6:30pm on Tuesday 27th March or email firstname.lastname@example.org to hear about opportunities.
